What Size Carbon Filter For 4x8 Tent

  1. Errly Bird

Okay and so hither's the deal. I have a setup planned out. I want to become a 4x8 tent. Two chiliad watt mh/hps fixtures. iii exhaust fans (one for carbon filter, 1 for low-cal, and 1 intake) for 6" duct. Thinking of using 5 gallon air pots (do they demand to be that big?). Flora Serial nutrients (thinking of going organic). Fox Farms soil with some extra perlite added. My master question is how many scrog plants do I demand to fill that screen with a month veg fourth dimension for each. My goal is 2 pounds per 4x4 surface area. I call back that'south what all growers shoot for. I'm just having trouble picking the number of plants I need in there without over crowding. As of all the research I call back 12 is the number I'thousand looking for but I wanted opinions from other growers who accept either done this already Or have plans also and have t figured out already. The seeds I plan to apply are Critical Kush. Supposed to accept a squeamish high yield and is an indica strain. Which also brings me to another question. Is Indica or Sativa better for a fast scrog? Temps and humidity I can't really comment on yet merely should be in acceptable areas. Was thinking of going hydro but have noticed buds dont taste, olfactory property, or look, every bit attractive as soil. Only my own opinion. I'one thousand sure hydro can grow amazing stuff simply not confident enough to fix issues that occur then apace when using that method. Thank you anyone who takes the time to read this and to anyone who replies and tries to assist me on my endeavor.

Here's a couple shots from a scrog I helped with a couple years dorsum for something to look at haha. We built that box custom. Still own it.

Come on I know there's some 2000 watt growers in here. And actually anyone who grows in general. I'thousand interested in knowing what yous used and what you pulled. Someone has to know what I can expect from this and how to fill it.

This is distressing. Arrive here peeps.

Buffalo11024 Non just a thumb, simply a whole green hand.

I pull anywhere from i.5-ii lbs out of a 4x8 depending on strains. 8 plants. With simply 1000w. Unmarried 1000w in 4x4 was pulling 14-eighteen oz.

I would run eight plants in that infinite, but if you really vegged those babies y'all could do just one under each light and scrog the shit out of them. I've found sativa dominant hybrids fill up the screens improve, but if y'all're running four plant per 4x4 area, it really won't matter. Grow what you want to fume you know?

I hate smart pots. I've seen no real difference between them and standard plant nursery pots, except that smart pots are harder to move around.

I would not run three 6 inch fans. I don't call back you really need an intake, merely use passive air. I think if you bought a good 8 inch fan y'all could probably apply simply that to cool the lights and scrub the air.

If y'all're trying to do a living soil I would recommend using at to the lowest degree 5 gallon containers. 7.v and x gallon containers might fifty-fifty exist improve. Later all, more roots, more than fruits. There is also something nigh the larger size that helps your microbes go from Reno, NV to NYC. They really flourish in bigger pots

Finally, brand sure you're giving yourself enough fourth dimension to veg. I don't know about other people, only it takes me a skillful vi weeks from the first day I drop seeds into water until they are well-nigh 18 inches tall and ready to be flowered. Simply plan ahead and give yourself enough room time wise to say "eh, I think I need another week of veg before I flip them." Good luck mate.

The more plants i have the shorter the time frame. And I am going to scrog no doubt. And 2 lb from 1 1000 watt sounds bully. I should have 2 in there and literally fill the entire screen. Just wanting to know how many information technology'll take to go the 4 lb mark within five months.

Are you lot growing them direct up or putting them in scrog?
  9. Buffalo11024

Buffalo11024 Not only a pollex, only a whole greenish hand.

I only screen when i know the stems won't support the bud.
  10. Errly Bird

Ah I run into. So just for support. Hell yeah well I'one thousand aiming for 4 with the 2000 watts. Realistically 3 but shooting for iv. Also the frazzle fans will just exist running while lights are on. I think it will help tremendously with keeping the heat at the right temp.
  11. Buffalo11024

Buffalo11024 Not just a thumb, but a whole greenish hand.

Plants will still need air cycling at dark.
  12. Errly Bird

Yeah but my plan for that is to just have air from the house ventilate it during off hours. Just keep my regular fans blowing and keeping information technology stirred upwardly.
  13. Buffalo11024

Buffalo11024 Not merely a thumb, just a whole green hand.

Tents really concur in moisture. That is the result. Are you lot running co2? If not you will essentially asphyxiate out your plants. Libation nights, around 15f temp swings help bring out color. 6" fans will struggle to keep your lights on, temps in cheque. id recommend upgrading to an viii"
  14. Buffalo11024

Buffalo11024 Not but a thumb, but a whole green manus.

I found paying to cool and paying to run the extra bulb. The ends don't justify the means. why i run 1000w bulb in a raptor mode hood. 3 lbs is more realistic for the space with a bang-up strain.
  15. Buffalo11024

Buffalo11024 Not just a pollex, merely a whole green paw.

My next run in doing a three strain. iii week, perpetual, sog with 45 plants in a four x 8 tent. I want to encounter if i tin can up my numbers under k w.
  16. Errly Bird

Well the fans I picked come in a 3 pack. Which is pretty much what I demand. And each one is 500 cfm. Which is pretty okay. The lights I'm getting only accept six inch connectors so really the merely matter i would need as eight inch would either be for the carbon filter or the intake. And I tin can't comment on humidity or temps nonetheless regardless since i don't have the equipment all the same and haven't seen what its going to do. And when lights are off I won't seal upward the tent. I would leave it open for max air circulation. If that might be a problem so I don't have a trouble running them 24/7 but would like to save the actress few bucks if I tin can. And my goal is 3+ per wheel. And I am not running co2. Why does the extra two inches from a  fan assistance?
  17. Errly Bird

would it be more beneficial though to get two viii inch exhaust? one for intake and ane for carbon filter sucked in through the hoods and out of the room? if I did that I would take to get 8 inch to 6 inch connectors. and would that affect annihilation as far as air flow goes? as far as i know 500 cfm is a pretty decent flow. but ill have one intake and 2 exhaust which may cause negative force per unit area?
  18. Errly Bird

I guess the big overall question is how do I properly ventilate my tent. I will be cartoon air from below the house and exhausting into another room. I want a carbon filter in at that place. And that'southward basically it. How many fans and what size practise I need to properly vent that tent. Keep in consideration my lights would have 6 inch fittings for duct.
  19. Buffalo11024

Buffalo11024 Not just a thumb, but a whole greenish manus.

The vi inch hoods should be fine. 6 inch hoods usually are thinner and heat up quicker. Volition just need more air movement to keep the heat from the plants. Filters restrict the fan a bit equally well. My 8 inch fan i accept pushes about 800 cfm. If you are exhausting into the room why not pull through the hoods and push through fan/filter outside the tent to save vertical space? The closer you lot have the fan to filter the ameliorate.
  20. Errly Bird

Well I planned on having one of them draw air from outside into the room for fresh outside air. For the other 2 I would run ane straight from the filter into another room. And i that goes straight through both lights into another room just taking the tents room air through them.
